Welcome to Orange Tree!
Our goal is to nurture young children in a loving environment and to provide each child with a positive introduction to formal education. We believe that each child is a unique gift of God and that a child’s first school experience is important because it lays the foundation for all future educational experiences. Therefore, we provide an encouraging atmosphere conducive to individual growth and development.
Our approach involves the whole child and recognizes that each one develops at his or her own rate. We strive to provide an environment that is safe, loving and rich in opportunities for learning and growth through age appropriate, hands-on activities.
We use project-based learning, social emotional learning, integrated studies and multidisciplinary studies. We use operant conditioning which is positive affirmation for the desired behavior and then good old-fashioned practice!
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6

Development Goals: Our Method
The unique Orange Tree Teaching System we call “Our Method”: Mind, Body, Spirit and Community. Our approach lays the foundation for learning by activities; creating new neural pathways; supporting different learning styles; encouraging our students to ‘choose fun’; and furthering individual development.

Academic Development
“Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” – Proverbs 19:20
We teach children to love learning. Our academic building blocks include: colors, shapes, letters, numbers. Skill training includes: pre-writing, cutting with scissors and much more.

Physical Activity
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” – 1 Corinthians 3:16
Our daily schedule includes teaching healthy eating habits and providing a fun PE class.

Understanding God
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” – John 17:17
Our curriculum includes a foundational understanding of God’s Word at an age appropriate level.

Awareness of Self & Others
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.” – John 15:9
We teach the fruits of the spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We also encourage friendship fixers, a step-by-step guide to conflict resolution.
